STORYBOARDS (THE FALL)

These storyboards are from the final scene of Tarsem Singh’s “The Fall”. This scene is the climax of the movie, where the Red Bandit finally has the chance to get his revenge on Governor Odious, and decides instead to walk away. This is also where Roy promises Alexandria that he will not kill himself. I chose to recreate this scene because of the beautiful cinematography and intense emotion shown through the camera angles, lighting, and actor’s facial expressions and body language.

After choosing about 100 screenshots from this scene, and sketching them all first in pencil and then different medias, the final 12 shots were selected and rendered in grayscale markers with red marker to emphasize different frames. The graphic feel that this media gives to the scene helps emphasize the intense emotions the characters are feeling by having such a sharp contrast.
